Baked Tahong
Baked Tahong tops steamed green mussels with garlicky crumbs and melted cheese.

Ingredients for Baked Tahong
- 20 large green mussels
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup Colby or other quick-melting cheese, grated
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp parsley, chopped
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
How to cook Baked Tahong
- 1.Cover mussels in a pan with 1/4 cup water and cook over medium heat until all shells open. Drain, cool, and discard top shells.
- 2.Melt butter over medium heat. Sauté garlic over low heat until golden, add breadcrumbs, and stir until crisp.
- 3.Stir parsley into the crumb mixture for 1 minute. Combine Colby and Parmesan.
- 4.Place 1 teaspoon crumbs and 1 teaspoon cheese mixture on each mussel.
- 5.Grill at 180°C for about 10 minutes, until cheese melts. Season with black pepper and serve.
