10 chicken legs
1 cup tomato catsup
1 can 7Up or Sprite
1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sugar
1 whole garlic, minced
3 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp oil
1/2 cup water
How to cook Pinoy Style Chicken Barbecue
1.Mix catsup, soda, soy sauce, sugar, garlic, lemon juice, pepper, and oil in a deep bowl. Coat chicken thoroughly, cover, and refrigerate for at least 24 hours.
2.Lift chicken from the marinade and reserve the liquid.
3.Whisk water and cornstarch in a saucepan until smooth; add reserved marinade, bring to a simmer, and cook for 5 minutes.
4.Prepare a charcoal grill. Grill chicken until the underside looks dry, then turn and baste the cooked side with sauce.
5.Continue turning and basting until deeply browned and the chicken is cooked through, with clear juices at the thickest part.
