Ginataang Manok with Sitaw at Kalabasa
Ginataang Manok with Sitaw at Kalabasa is a creamy coconut chicken stew with tender squash and beans.

Ingredients for Ginataang Manok with Sitaw at Kalabasa
- 2 lb chicken, cut into serving pieces
- 340 g kalabasa, calabaza squash, or butternut squash, cubed
- 12 sitaw, cut into 2-inch lengths
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 (40 g) packet Knorr Ginataang Gulay Mix
- 2 3/4 cups water, divided
- 2 teaspoons patis
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
How to cook Ginataang Manok with Sitaw at Kalabasa
- 1.Heat oil in a pot and sauté garlic and onion until softened. Add chicken and cook until lightly browned.
- 2.Pour in 2 cups water, bring to a boil, cover, and cook over medium heat for 40 minutes, adding water if necessary.
- 3.Stir in kalabasa and cook for 5 minutes. Dissolve Ginataang Gulay Mix in 3/4 cup lukewarm water and add it.
- 4.Add sitaw, cover, and cook 3–5 minutes until crisp-tender. Stir in patis and pepper; cook 1 minute and serve.
