Party Pork and Beans
A rich, broiled pork-and-beans casserole made extra silky by slow-cooked pata.

Ingredients for Party Pork and Beans
- 1 kg pata (pork hock), cut into sections
- 6 bacon slices, lightly fried
- 1 chorizo de Bilbao, sliced
- 1 (420 g) can baked beans
- 3 cups water
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 large white onion, roughly chopped
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
How to cook Party Pork and Beans
- 1.Lightly fry the bacon in oil without crisping; set aside.
- 2.Brown the pata well in the same pot, then remove it.
- 3.Sauté garlic and onion in the pot until fragrant and lightly golden.
- 4.Return pata, add water to cover, season lightly, and simmer until tender and the broth is gelatinous.
- 5.Add chorizo and simmer for 10 minutes, then gently stir in baked beans.
- 6.Transfer to a baking dish, top with bacon, and broil until bubbling and lightly caramelized.
