Nilat-an na Tiil ng Baboy
Nilat-an na Tiil ng Baboy is tender pork leg slowly braised with saba and ube.

Ingredients for Nilat-an na Tiil ng Baboy
- 1 1/2 kg pork leg, cut into sections
- 4 saba bananas, sliced
- 300 g ube, cubed
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp annatto powder
- 1 tbsp freshly ground black pepper
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp cane vinegar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 bay leaves
How to cook Nilat-an na Tiil ng Baboy
- 1.Mix the annatto powder, pepper, garlic, soy sauce, cane vinegar, sugar, salt, and bay leaves for the marinade.
- 2.Coat the pork leg evenly with the marinade, cover, and marinate for 2 hours.
- 3.Bring the pork to a slow boil over medium heat, then reduce to the lowest heat.
- 4.Simmer for 1 hour 15 minutes until tender, adding the water if the cooking liquid dries out.
- 5.Add ube and simmer 15 minutes; add saba and simmer another 15 minutes before serving.
