Pata Estofado
Pata Estofado is a sweet-tangy braised pork hock finished with carrot and fried banana.

Ingredients for Pata Estofado
- 2 lb pork pata, boiled for 15 minutes
- 1 Knorr Pork Cube
- 2 bananas, sliced
- 1 carrot, sliced
- 8 tbsp brown sugar
- 5 tbsp soy sauce
- 5 tbsp white vinegar
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 3 dried bay leaves
- 1 tsp whole peppercorn
- 4 cups water
- 4 tbsp cooking oil
How to cook Pata Estofado
- 1.Heat oil over medium heat and fry banana slices until browned; remove and set aside.
- 2.Pan-fry the pre-boiled pork pata for 3 minutes per side.
- 3.Add garlic and brown sugar; stir until the sugar melts.
- 4.Pour in soy sauce, vinegar, and water. Cover and bring to a boil, then add Pork Cube, peppercorns, and bay leaves.
- 5.Cover and simmer over low heat for about 40 minutes until tender, turn pata, then cover and cook 30 to 40 minutes more.
- 6.Add carrot and fried banana, cover, cook 5 minutes, and serve.
