Sinam-it
Sinam-it is a glossy sweet-savory pork dish brightened with pineapple juice and banana ketchup.

Ingredients for Sinam-it
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 500 grams fatty skin-on pork belly, cut into bite-size pieces
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice
- 1 tablespoon banana ketchup, optional
- 1/2 cup water, plus more as needed
- Salt and pepper, to taste
How to cook Sinam-it
- 1.Heat oil in a pot or large skillet over medium heat; sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
- 2.Add pork, soy sauce, brown sugar, pineapple juice, banana ketchup, and 1/2 cup water.
- 3.Bring to a boil, then simmer about 30 minutes until the pork is tender.
- 4.Raise heat to high and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce becomes a sticky glaze.
- 5.Taste, season with salt and pepper, and serve hot with steamed rice.
