Ginisang Sitaw with Bell Pepper
Ginisang Sitaw with Bell Pepper is a savory pork-and-bean sauté with a subtly sweet Coca-Cola braise.

Ingredients for Ginisang Sitaw with Bell Pepper
- 18 string beans, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1/2 lb pork belly, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced into strips
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- 5 cloves garlic, chopped
- 3 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 7.5 oz Coca-Cola
- 1 cup water, divided
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
How to cook Ginisang Sitaw with Bell Pepper
- 1.Heat a wok over medium heat; cook pork belly until its fat renders and the meat begins browning.
- 2.Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Add soy sauce, 3/4 cup water, and Coca-Cola; cover and simmer until pork is tender.
- 3.Uncover and cook until the liquid evaporates. Stir in onion and tomatoes until softened.
- 4.Add string beans and sauté 1 minute. Add oyster sauce and remaining 1/4 cup water; cover and cook 3 minutes.
- 5.Add bell pepper and cook 2 minutes. Season with sugar, salt, and pepper; serve with steamed rice.
