Pork Hamonado
Pork Hamonado is a sweet-savory pineapple-braised pork belly dish best served with hot rice.

Ingredients for Pork Hamonado
- 2 lb pork belly, sliced into serving pieces
- 2 cups pineapple juice
- 20 oz pineapple chunks, divided
- 6 cloves garlic, crushed
- 6 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tsp whole peppercorns
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- Salt, to taste
How to cook Pork Hamonado
- 1.Heat oil in a pot over medium-high heat; fry pork belly for 2 minutes per side.
- 2.Add soy sauce, pineapple juice, half the pineapple chunks, garlic, and peppercorns; cover and bring to a boil.
- 3.Lower to a gentle simmer and cook about 60 minutes, adding water as needed, until the pork is tender.
- 4.Stir in remaining pineapple and brown sugar; season with salt and cook 2 minutes.
- 5.Serve warm with rice.
