Ginataang Manok Na May Luyang Dilaw
Turmeric and coconut give this chicken dish its sunny color and gentle heat.

Ingredients for Ginataang Manok Na May Luyang Dilaw
- 2 lb chicken thighs, cut into serving pieces
- 1 packet (20 g) Knorr Ginataang Gulay mix
- 1 cup hot pepper leaves (dahon ng sili)
- 1/2 cup sliced turmeric (luyang dilaw)
- 5 Thai chillies, optional
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 5 garlic cloves, crushed
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1/8 teaspoon crushed peppercorns
- 3 tablespoons fish sauce
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
How to cook Ginataang Manok Na May Luyang Dilaw
- 1.Heat oil and sauté garlic, onion, and turmeric until the onion softens.
- 2.Add chicken and cook until all sides are light to medium brown.
- 3.Add 1 1/2 cups water, bring to a boil, cover, and cook over medium heat for 30 minutes.
- 4.Dissolve Ginataang Gulay mix in 1 cup water and add it to the pan; bring to a boil.
- 5.Add peppercorns and optional Thai chillies. Cover and cook until sauce reduces by half.
- 6.Stir in dahon ng sili and fish sauce; cook uncovered for 5 minutes, then serve with rice.
