Ginataang Lapu Lapu
Delicate lapu lapu gently cooks in coconut milk with squash, chilies, and malunggay.

Ingredients for Ginataang Lapu Lapu
- 700 g lapu lapu (grouper) fillets, cubed
- 400 g buttercup squash, cubed
- 400 ml coconut milk
- 1 cup malunggay leaves
- 2 long red chilies, sliced
- 1 cup water
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 red onion, finely chopped
- Oil
- Fish sauce, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
How to cook Ginataang Lapu Lapu
- 1.Heat oil in a wok over medium heat and sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
- 2.Add squash and water; bring to a boil and simmer 5 minutes.
- 3.Add coconut milk, malunggay, lapu lapu, and chilies. Return to a very slow boil.
- 4.Simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, until squash is tender and fish flakes easily.
- 5.Season with fish sauce and black pepper, then serve hot.
