Pork Bola Bola Soup with Misua and Patola

Tender pork bola-bola, silky misua, and sweet patola make a soothing everyday soup.

Ingredients for Pork Bola Bola Soup with Misua and Patola

  • 3 oz misua
  • 1 Knorr Pork Cube
  • 1 medium patola, sliced
  • 1/2 cup scallions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 medium yellow onions, minced, divided
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, divided
  • 2 tbsp patis
  • 6 to 8 cups water
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 egg
  • 6 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt

How to cook Pork Bola Bola Soup with Misua and Patola

  1. 1.Combine pork, egg, 1 minced onion, flour, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Shape into balls using about 1 1/2 tablespoons each.
  2. 2.Heat oil in a pot over medium heat and pan-fry meatballs until lightly browned outside; remove.
  3. 3.Sauté garlic in the remaining oil until golden, then add the remaining onion and cook until soft.
  4. 4.Add water and bring to a boil. Return meatballs, add Knorr Pork Cube, cover, and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.
  5. 5.Add misua and patola, cover, and cook 5 minutes until patola is tender and misua is soft.
  6. 6.Season with patis and remaining pepper. Stir in scallions and serve.
