Kilawing Labanos at Baboy
Kilawing Labanos at Baboy is a bright vinegar-braised pork dish with crisp-tender daikon.

Ingredients for Kilawing Labanos at Baboy
- 500 g pork shoulder chops, thinly sliced
- 1 medium daikon radish, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 cups cane vinegar
- 1 cup water
- 2 small red onions, thinly sliced
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 2 bay leaves
- Fish sauce
- Salt
- Oil
How to cook Kilawing Labanos at Baboy
- 1.Marinate pork in 1/2 cup cane vinegar, salt, and pepper for 30 minutes.
- 2.Salt the daikon generously for 15 minutes, rinse under cold water, then soak it in 1/2 cup vinegar.
- 3.Drain the daikon and discard its vinegar; drain pork and reserve its marinade.
- 4.Heat oil in a wok and sauté garlic with half the onions. Add pork and stir-fry over high heat until lightly browned.
- 5.Add reserved pork vinegar, remaining 1/2 cup vinegar, water, and bay leaves; boil, then simmer 20 minutes.
- 6.Add daikon and cook uncovered for 5 minutes. Season with fish sauce and pepper, garnish with remaining onion, and serve.
