Ingredients for Spicy Ginataang Hipon
1 1/2 lb medium shrimp, heads and shells on
1 pack Knorr Ginataang Gulay mix
3 long green peppers, thinly sliced
2 to 5 bird's eye chilies, chopped
2 thumbs ginger, minced
1 medium onion, sliced
1/2 cup chopped scallions
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
3/4 cup lukewarm water
Fish sauce, to taste, optional
3 tablespoons cooking oil
How to cook Spicy Ginataang Hipon
1.In a bowl, dissolve the Knorr Ginataang Gulay mix in the lukewarm water and set the gata mixture aside.
2.Heat the cooking oil in a pot over medium heat. Saute the garlic, onion, and ginger until fragrant and the onion begins to soften.
3.Add the long green peppers, scallions, and chopped chilies. Stir and cook for about 1 minute.
4.Pour in the gata mixture and bring it to a boil. Add the shrimp and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes, until the shells turn orange and the shrimp are just cooked through.
5.Season with ground black pepper and fish sauce if using. Stir and cook for 1 to 2 minutes more, then transfer to a bowl and serve with rice.
