Filipino BBQ - Pork Skewers
Filipino BBQ Pork Skewers are sweet-savory grilled pork with a bright calamansi marinade.

Ingredients for Filipino BBQ - Pork Skewers
- 2 pounds pork shoulder or tenderloin, cut into bite-size pieces
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 cup soy sauce, for marinade
- 1/2 cup banana ketchup, for marinade
- 1/2 cup lemon soda, such as 7-Up or Sprite
- 5 large cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/8 cup lemon or calamansi juice
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/4 cup banana ketchup, for basting
- 1/4 cup soy sauce, for basting
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
How to cook Filipino BBQ - Pork Skewers
- 1.Mix pork with pepper, salt, marinade soy sauce, marinade banana ketchup, lemon soda, garlic, and lemon or calamansi juice for 3 minutes.
- 2.Cover and marinate at least 3 hours, or refrigerate overnight.
- 3.Thread 5 to 6 pork pieces onto each bamboo skewer, alternating fatty and lean pieces where possible.
- 4.Mix oil, brown sugar, basting soy sauce, basting banana ketchup, and leftover marinade for basting.
- 5.Grill over medium heat, brushing before and during cooking, until browned on both sides and cooked through.
- 6.For a dipping sauce, boil any remaining marinade before serving; serve skewers with spicy vinegar if desired.
