Misua and Meatball Soup

Misua and Meatball Soup is a comforting tomato broth with browned pork meatballs and tender patola.

Ingredients for Misua and Meatball Soup

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 large patola, peeled and sliced
  • 2 ounces misua noodles
  • 1 can tomato sauce, 4 ounces
  • 1 bunch spring onions, chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 medium yellow onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 beef cube
  • 6 tablespoons cooking oil

How to cook Misua and Meatball Soup

  1. 1.Mix pork, egg, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper; shape the mixture into tablespoon-sized meatballs.
  2. 2.Heat 4 tablespoons oil over low-medium heat and fry meatballs until medium brown; drain and set aside.
  3. 3.Heat remaining oil in a pot, sauté onion and garlic until soft, then add meatballs and water.
  4. 4.Bring to a boil, add beef cube and tomato sauce, then simmer 10 minutes.
  5. 5.Add fish sauce, patola, and spring onions; cook 3 minutes, then add misua and cook 2 minutes.
  6. 6.Serve immediately, adding water if needed as the noodles absorb broth.
