Gule Magalang
Gule Magalang is a quick vegetable-and-seafood stew brightened with fried fish flakes.

Ingredients for Gule Magalang
- 1 luffa, peeled and sliced
- 1 chayote, peeled and sliced
- 2 cups cubed butternut squash
- 1 bunch pea shoots or chayote tops
- 1 bunch squash flowers
- 12 prawns, shelled and deveined
- 1/2 cup flaked fried fish
- 2 shallots, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup chicken stock
- Fish sauce, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Oil
How to cook Gule Magalang
- 1.Heat oil in a wok over medium heat and sauté garlic and shallots until fragrant.
- 2.Add chayote, squash, fried fish flakes, and chicken stock; bring to a boil.
- 3.Lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes, until the squash begins to soften.
- 4.Add pea shoots or chayote tops, squash flowers, luffa, and prawns; simmer for 3 minutes until prawns are opaque.
- 5.Season with fish sauce and black pepper, then serve hot.
