No-Bake Filipino Style Lasagna

No-Bake Filipino Style Lasagna layers pork-hotdog tomato sauce, cheesy white sauce, and tender pasta.

Ingredients for No-Bake Filipino Style Lasagna

  • 9 lasagna sheets
  • 1 1/4 cups cheddar cheese, shredded, divided
  • Water, for boiling lasagna
  • 3/4 lb ground pork
  • 3 hotdogs, sliced
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 2 cups fresh milk
  • 3 1/2 tbsp all-purpose flour

How to cook No-Bake Filipino Style Lasagna

  1. 1.Heat oil and sauté onion and garlic until soft. Add pork and cook until light brown; add hotdogs for 1 minute.
  2. 2.Add tomato sauce and water. Cover and cook over low-medium heat 40 minutes; season with sugar, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3.Boil lasagna sheets in salted water according to package directions, about 10 minutes if specified; drain.
  4. 4.Melt butter and stir in flour. Gradually whisk in milk until thick; stir in 1/2 cup cheddar until melted.
  5. 5.Layer meat sauce, pasta, white sauce, and cheese in an 8-inch square pan three times. Cover and broil at 400°F for 35 minutes, then uncovered at 350°F for 12 minutes; slice and serve.
