Arroz a la Cubana
Arroz a la Cubana is a satisfying plate of savory picadillo, rice, egg, and sweet fried saba.

Ingredients for Arroz a la Cubana
- 300 g lean ground pork
- 300 g lean ground beef
- 1/2 cup corn kernels
- 1/2 cup green peas
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1 carrot, diced (optional)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Oil
- Steamed rice
- Cardaba (saba) bananas, sliced crosswise
- Fried eggs, sunny-side up
How to cook Arroz a la Cubana
- 1.Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry saba slices until golden on both sides; transfer to a plate.
- 2.Add oil to the pan and sauté garlic and onion until softened.
- 3.Add pork and beef. Cook for 10 minutes, breaking up the meat, until browned.
- 4.Add corn, peas, carrot if using, and raisins. Cook 5 minutes, then add soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
- 5.Plate steamed rice with the minced meat, a sunny-side-up egg, and fried saba.
