Copycat Wok Inn Squid
Stuffed, crisp squid is coated in a sticky honey-soy glaze.

Ingredients for Copycat Wok Inn Squid
- 3 large squid
- 2 large bunches chives, roots trimmed
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Oil, for deep-frying
- 1/2 cup Filipino soy sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 6 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 6 tbsp dark brown sugar
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 4 tbsp garlic, minced
- 4 tsp ginger, minced
- 2 tbsp oil
How to cook Copycat Wok Inn Squid
- 1.Season squid inside and out with salt and pepper. Stuff each with chives and secure the openings with toothpicks.
- 2.Coat squid in 1/2 cup cornstarch and deep-fry for 3 minutes; do not overcook. Drain.
- 3.Meanwhile, sauté garlic and ginger in 2 tablespoons oil over low heat.
- 4.Whisk soy sauce, water, honey, oyster sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and 2 teaspoons cornstarch until smooth.
- 5.Add sauce mixture to the pan, boil, then simmer over medium heat until thick. Remove toothpicks, score squid, and coat with glaze.
