Adobong Puso ng Saging
Adobong Puso ng Saging turns tender banana bud into a tangy pork adobo-style main dish.

Ingredients for Adobong Puso ng Saging
- 1 large banana bud (puso ng saging)
- Water, for boiling
- 150 g fatty pork, sliced
- Oil, for cooking
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 shallots, minced
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ⅓ cup cane vinegar
- ¼ cup water, plus more as needed
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
How to cook Adobong Puso ng Saging
- 1.Peel away the red outer layers of the banana bud, cut into wedges, and boil until tender, about 30 minutes or less.
- 2.Drain, cool until handleable, and slice the banana bud into smaller pieces.
- 3.Heat oil in a wok and fry pork until browned. Add garlic and cook until golden, then stir-fry shallots for 2 minutes.
- 4.Add banana bud and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add soy sauce, vinegar, and water; simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes.
- 5.Add a little water if needed, season with salt and pepper, and serve hot.
