Fried Pork Belly Liempo
Fried Pork Belly Liempo is boiled until seasoned, dredged, crisp-fried, and served with a spicy garlic-onion dip.

Ingredients for Fried Pork Belly Liempo
- 3 lbs pork belly, sliced
- 10 cloves garlic, crushed, divided
- 8 g Maggi Magic Sarap
- ¾ tsp ground black pepper, divided
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1½ cups water
- ½ cup cooking oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 5 Thai chili peppers, chopped
- 1 tbsp chopped green onion
- 1 tsp granulated white sugar
- ¼ tsp salt
How to cook Fried Pork Belly Liempo
- 1.Season pork belly with Maggi Magic Sarap and ½ teaspoon black pepper. Add 5 cloves garlic and water; boil 10 minutes.
- 2.Turn pork over and continue boiling until all liquid evaporates. Remove pork and let cool.
- 3.Mix flour and cornstarch. Dredge pork, shaking off excess. Heat oil and fry until browned and crisp on both sides; drain.
- 4.Mix remaining garlic, onion, Thai chilies, green onion, sugar, remaining pepper, and salt for the dipping sauce. Serve with liempo and steamed rice.
