Lihim ni Lola is a violet cassava sweet filled with bukayo and salted duck egg.

Ingredients for Lihim ni Lola
500 g grated cassava
250 ml coconut milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp butter
Violet food coloring
1/2 cup grated coconut
6 tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1 salted duck egg, cut into 10 pieces
Latik, for topping
Coconut oil
How to cook Lihim ni Lola
1.Mix cassava, coconut milk, sugar, egg, and violet food coloring until even.
2.Cook in a nonstick pan over medium heat, stirring constantly, for 30–40 minutes until a very dense dough forms; add butter during the final 5 minutes.
3.Cook grated coconut and brown sugar over medium heat until caramelized; stir in cornstarch mixed with water until thick.
4.Divide cassava dough into 10 portions and grease 10 puto molds with coconut oil.
5.Press dough into molds, fill each with bukayo and one salted duck egg piece, then seal the filling inside.
6.Set 30 minutes, unmold, top with latik, and serve.
