Ingredients for Ham and Cheese Bread Rolls
8 slices bread, edges trimmed
8 pieces champagne ham
8 cheddar cheese slices
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups bread crumbs
Oil, for frying
How to cook Ham and Cheese Bread Rolls
1.Flatten each slice of bread with a rolling pin or clean bottle. Lay 1 piece of ham and 1 slice of cheddar on each bread slice, then roll tightly and place seam-side down.
2.Put the beaten eggs in one shallow dish and the bread crumbs in another. Dip each roll in egg, then coat evenly with bread crumbs, pressing gently so the coating sticks.
3.Heat enough oil in a frying pan to cover the surface over medium heat. Fry the rolls seam-side down first so they seal, then turn as needed until all sides are golden brown.
4.Drain the cooked rolls on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil. Slice each roll diagonally in half and serve hot.
