Paksiw Na Baboy
Paksiw na baboy is a sweet-sour pork belly stew simmered with vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, peppercorns, bay leaves, and banana blossoms.

Ingredients for Paksiw Na Baboy
- 2 lbs pork belly, cut into cubes
- 1 head garlic, crushed
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 cup water
- 6 tablespoons white vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 100 grams banana blossoms
- 3 dried bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon whole peppercorns
- 4 grams Maggi Magic Sarap
How to cook Paksiw Na Baboy
- 1.Sear pork belly in a pot over medium heat until browned and enough fat renders.
- 2.Add garlic and saute for 1 minute.
- 3.Pour in soy sauce and water; bring to a boil.
- 4.Add bay leaves and peppercorns, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes.
- 5.Add vinegar, return to a boil without rushing the stir, then mix well.
- 6.Add banana blossoms, lower heat to the gentlest simmer, and cook 30 minutes more until pork is tender.
- 7.Stir in brown sugar and Maggi Magic Sarap, then serve hot.
