Burger Steak
Filipino Burger Steak features tender beef patties under a savory mushroom gravy.

Ingredients for Burger Steak
- 600 g beef mince
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil, optional
- 2 cups button mushrooms, sliced
- 4 cups defatted roast-meat drippings
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons onion powder
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Salt, to taste
How to cook Burger Steak
- 1.Beat egg, then mix with beef, breadcrumbs, onion, and sesame oil; shape into patties.
- 2.Shallow-fry patties over medium heat until browned and cooked through; set aside.
- 3.Quickly fry mushrooms in the same pan; remove.
- 4.Melt butter in the pan, stir in flour, and cook until a smooth roux forms.
- 5.Whisk in drippings until lump-free; add onion powder, soy sauce, and mushrooms. Season, then spoon gravy over patties.
