Ginataang Papaya
Ginataang Papaya pairs green papaya and fried daing in a creamy coconut-milk sauce.

Ingredients for Ginataang Papaya
- 1 small green papaya, cut into wedges
- 3 medium dried fish (daing), fried
- 2 1/2 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 1 cup malunggay leaves
- 1 small yellow onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 thumb ginger, minced
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 3 chilies, optional
- 1/2 cup water
How to cook Ginataang Papaya
- 1.Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté garlic and ginger, then add onion and cook until soft.
- 2.Add fried daing and stir for 1 minute.
- 3.Pour in coconut milk, stir, and simmer gently for 5 minutes.
- 4.Add green papaya, cover, and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes until tender; add water if needed.
- 5.Stir in malunggay, fish sauce, pepper, and optional chilies. Cook for 2 minutes before serving.
