Ginataang Kamoteng Kahoy ay Saging

Cassava and saba bananas cook into a glossy, thick coconut dessert sweetened with palm sugar.

Ingredients for Ginataang Kamoteng Kahoy ay Saging

  • 400 g cassava or yucca, peeled, cleaned, and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 6 saba bananas, cut into sections
  • 3 cups coconut milk
  • 150 g palm sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How to cook Ginataang Kamoteng Kahoy ay Saging

  1. 1.Combine coconut milk, cassava, and palm sugar in a pot. Bring to a boil, reduce to medium heat, and cook 10 minutes.
  2. 2.Add saba bananas and cook 5 minutes.
  3. 3.Stir in salt and raise heat to high. Cook 3–4 minutes until sauce reduces, turns glossy, and thickly coats the fruit.
  4. 4.Turn off heat and serve warm.
