Paksiw na Pata
Paksiw na Pata is a tender pork leg braise with soy sauce, vinegar, brown sugar, and dried banana blossoms.

Ingredients for Paksiw na Pata
- 1 1/2 kg pork leg, cut into 1 1/2- to 2-inch sections
- 8 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 2 cups water
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 packed cup dried banana blossoms
- 4 dried bay leaves
- 1 tbsp whole peppercorns
- Salt, to taste
- Oil, as needed
How to cook Paksiw na Pata
- 1.Heat oil in a wok and brown pork leg on both sides; remove and set aside.
- 2.Sauté garlic in the wok until golden and fragrant.
- 3.Return pork. Add water, soy sauce, half the vinegar, peppercorns, and bay leaves; boil, then simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 hours until tender.
- 4.Add remaining vinegar, brown sugar, and dried banana blossoms. Simmer 15–20 minutes more.
- 5.Season with salt and serve hot.
