Pork Siomai

These pork siomai are plump steamed dumplings packed with pork, shrimp, vegetables, sesame oil, and savory pork seasoning.

Ingredients for Pork Siomai

  • 2 1/2 lbs ground pork
  • 1 cup shrimp, minced
  • 2 sachets Knorr SavorRich Pork Seasoning, 44 g each
  • 1 cup jicama, minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup onion, minced
  • 1 cup carrots, minced
  • 1 raw egg
  • 1/2 cup scallions, minced
  • 30 wonton wrappers
  • Water, for steaming

How to cook Pork Siomai

  1. 1.In a large bowl, combine the ground pork and minced shrimp until evenly mixed.
  2. 2.Add the jicama, carrots, onion, scallions, egg, ground black pepper, and sesame oil; mix until the filling is well blended.
  3. 3.Pour in the Knorr SavorRich Pork Seasoning and mix again until fully incorporated.
  4. 4.Place about 1 1/2 tablespoons of filling in each wonton wrapper and shape into siomai, repeating until all filling is used.
  5. 5.Arrange the dumplings in a steamer with space between them, set over boiling water, and steam for 15 to 20 minutes, until the pork filling is cooked through.
  6. 6.Transfer to a plate and serve hot with soy sauce-calamansi dip and chili garlic paste if desired.
