Pinakbet Tagalog
Pinakbet Tagalog brings lechon kawali and mixed vegetables together in a savory bagoong broth.

Ingredients for Pinakbet Tagalog
- 1 lb lechon kawali, sliced
- 1 Knorr Shrimp Cube
- 12 sitaw, cut into 2-inch lengths
- 1/2 kalabasa, cubed
- 12 okra
- 1 Chinese eggplant, sliced
- 1 ampalaya, sliced
- 1 kamote, cubed, optional
- 2 tomatoes, cubed
- 2 thumbs ginger, crushed, optional
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 tsp bagoong alamang
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
How to cook Pinakbet Tagalog
- 1.Heat oil in a pot. Sauté onion and garlic with ginger, if using, until onion softens.
- 2.Add half the lechon kawali and sauté 1 minute. Pour in water, bring to a boil, then add the Shrimp Cube.
- 3.Cover and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes. Add tomatoes and bagoong alamang, cover, and cook 3 minutes.
- 4.Add kalabasa and optional kamote; cook 7 minutes. Add sitaw, okra, ampalaya, and eggplant; cover and cook 5 minutes.
- 5.Season with black pepper, add remaining lechon kawali, heat through, and serve.
