Panara
Panara is a crisp fried wonton snack filled with savory shrimp and tender-crisp upo.

Ingredients for Panara
- 2 cups chopped bottle gourd (upo)
- 16 square wonton wrappers
- 12 medium shrimp, shelled
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small egg, beaten
- Fish sauce, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Oil, for deep-frying
How to cook Panara
- 1.Sauté garlic and onion in a little oil until fragrant.
- 2.Add shrimp and upo; stir-fry for 3 minutes, keeping the upo crisp. Season with fish sauce and black pepper, then cool.
- 3.Place 1 tablespoon filling in each wrapper. Brush edges with beaten egg, fold into triangles, and press firmly to seal.
- 4.Heat deep-frying oil to 170°C (340°F). Fry the wontons in batches until golden brown.
- 5.Drain on a rack or paper towels and serve warm.
