Spicy Monggo with Tinapa is a smoky, chili-laced mung bean stew finished with ampalaya leaves.

Ingredients for Spicy Monggo with Tinapa
- 3/4 cup tinapa flakes
- 14 oz monggo
- 1 Knorr Shrimp Cube
- 1 1/2 cups ampalaya leaves
- 2 medium tomatoes, cubed
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 8 Thai chilies
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 8-10 cups water
- 3 tbsp fish sauce (patis)
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
How to cook Spicy Monggo with Tinapa
- 1.Heat oil in a pot. Sauté garlic, onion, and tomatoes until softened.
- 2.Add tinapa flakes and cook 1 minute. Add Thai chilies and monggo; cook 2 minutes.
- 3.Pour in water and bring to a boil. Add the Knorr Shrimp Cube, cover, and cook over medium heat until monggo is soft.
- 4.Add water as needed, then stir in ampalaya leaves, fish sauce, and pepper. Cook 3 to 5 minutes and serve with rice.
