Pork Giniling

Pork Giniling is a rich tomato-based ground pork stew finished with vegetables, cheese, peas, and eggs.

Ingredients for Pork Giniling

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 to 5 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 500 grams ground pork
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon calamansi juice or lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 medium carrot, diced
  • 1 medium potato, diced
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 to 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 6 hard-boiled eggs

How to cook Pork Giniling

  1. 1.Sauté garlic and onion in oil over medium heat until soft. Add tomato sauce and paste; cook until oil separates from the sauce.
  2. 2.Add ground pork and cook until lightly browned. Add water and simmer 10 minutes.
  3. 3.Add soy sauce, calamansi juice, salt, and pepper; cook 10 minutes. Add butter, cover, and simmer 5 minutes.
  4. 4.Add carrot, potato, and bell pepper. Cover and simmer 5 minutes, or until vegetables are tender.
  5. 5.Stir in cheese until melted, add green peas for 1 minute, then fold in hard-boiled eggs. Serve with rice.
