Chicken and Ham Sopas
Chicken and Ham Sopas is a creamy, hearty noodle soup made for a filling family meal.

Ingredients for Chicken and Ham Sopas
- 1/2 pound ground chicken
- 1/2 pound ham, chopped
- 12 ounces evaporated milk
- 1/2 pound wide egg noodles or elbow macaroni
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 2 celery ribs, chopped
- 1 large potato, diced
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 3 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
How to cook Chicken and Ham Sopas
- 1.Melt butter in a deep pot over medium heat; sauté onion for 2 minutes, then celery for 1 minute.
- 2.Add ground chicken and break it apart while cooking 3 to 5 minutes; add ham and cook 2 minutes.
- 3.Pour in broth and water, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
- 4.Add potato and carrots; cook 5 minutes, then add noodles and cook until almost tender.
- 5.Stir in evaporated milk and thyme; gently simmer 5 to 7 minutes without boiling hard.
- 6.Season with salt and pepper, then serve warm.
