Squid Ball Chop Suey
A hearty chop suey with squid balls, chicken liver, and crisp vegetables.

Ingredients for Squid Ball Chop Suey
- 1 medium cabbage, chopped
- 12-15 squid balls
- 2 cups snow peas
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 carrot, sliced crosswise
- 2 red bell peppers, sliced
- 2 cups cauliflower florets
- 1/4 lb chicken liver
- 10 boiled quail eggs
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
How to cook Squid Ball Chop Suey
- 1.Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the garlic and onion until fragrant and softened.
- 2.Add the chicken liver and cook for 3–5 minutes, until no longer pink in the center.
- 3.Stir in the oyster sauce and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, add the squid balls, cover, and simmer gently for 10–12 minutes.
- 4.Increase to medium heat, season with pepper, and add the carrots and cauliflower. Cook for 3 minutes.
- 5.Stir in the snow peas and bell peppers, then add the cabbage. Cover and steam for 3–5 minutes.
- 6.Stir gently, add the quail eggs, season with salt, and serve.
