Apple Snails in Coconut Milk (Ginataang Kuhol)
Ginataang Kuhol braises apple snails in a spicy, creamy coconut broth with spinach.

Ingredients for Apple Snails in Coconut Milk (Ginataang Kuhol)
- 1 lb apple snails (kuhol), shell removed
- 1 large bunch fresh spinach
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 6 red chillies
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped
- 2 thumbs ginger, sliced
- 1/4 cup shrimp paste
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 3 tbsp cooking oil
How to cook Apple Snails in Coconut Milk (Ginataang Kuhol)
- 1.Heat oil in a pot. Sauté garlic and onion, then add ginger and cook for 1–2 minutes.
- 2.Add apple snails and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- 3.Stir in shrimp paste and chillies, then pour in coconut milk and bring to a boil.
- 4.Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Add black pepper and spinach, then cook uncovered for 5 minutes until spinach wilts.
- 5.Serve as pulutan or with warm white rice.
