Tinadtad na Baka
Tinadtad na Baka is a hearty, tamarind-soured beef soup filled with crisp vegetables.

Ingredients for Tinadtad na Baka
- 750 g beef brisket, cut into very small cubes
- 1 cup lima beans, edamame, or broad beans
- 1 1/2 cups sliced daikon radish
- 200 g medium okra, halved
- 1 bunch string beans
- 1 packet sinigang mix or 12 bilimbi, trimmed
- 1 bunch wing beans (optional)
- 1 bunch kangkong (optional)
- 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
- 1 large red onion, chopped
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- Water, as needed
- Fish sauce, to taste
- Oil, as needed
How to cook Tinadtad na Baka
- 1.Heat oil in a deep pot and brown beef. Remove and set aside.
- 2.Sauté garlic and onion until fragrant, then cook tomatoes until soft. Return beef to the pot.
- 3.Add enough water to cover meat and add bilimbi, if using. Bring to a boil and simmer 40 minutes.
- 4.Add lima beans and daikon; simmer 10 minutes until nearly tender.
- 5.Add string beans, wing beans if using, and okra; simmer 5 minutes.
- 6.Stir in sinigang mix, if using, and season with fish sauce. Add kangkong, cover off heat for 2 minutes, then serve.
