Kangkong in Oyster Sauce
Tender kangkong is coated in a glossy oyster sauce with toasted garlic.

Ingredients for Kangkong in Oyster Sauce
- 1 bunch kangkong (ongchoy or water spinach), cleaned
- 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 3 tablespoons toasted garlic
- 3/4 cup beef broth
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds, optional
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
How to cook Kangkong in Oyster Sauce
- 1.Separate kangkong leaves from stalks and cut stalks into 2-inch pieces.
- 2.Whisk beef broth, oyster sauce, and cornstarch until smooth.
- 3.Heat oil over medium-high heat; cook stalks for 2 minutes. Add sauce mixture and toasted garlic, stirring for about 1 minute until thickened.
- 4.Add leaves and optional red pepper flakes; cook 1 to 2 minutes until wilted. Season and finish with optional sesame seeds.
