Ingredients for Halo-Halo
Minatamis na saging, bananas only
Ripe jackfruit, sliced
Sweetened chickpeas
Sweetened red beans
Sweetened white beans
Shredded sweet young coconut
Corn kernels
Nata de coco
Sugar palm (kaong)
Pinipig or rice crispies
Leche flan
Cooked sweet purple yam
Frozen milk, shredded
Sugar, optional
How to cook Halo-Halo
1.Divide Minatamis na Saging, jackfruit, sweetened beans, coconut, corn, nata de coco, kaong, and pinipig between tall glasses, filling only one-third.
2.Shred frozen milk by gently pounding its carton inside a towel, or carve the frozen block with a knife for finer shavings.
3.Pile frozen milk into each glass, nearly to the rim; add sugar only if desired.
4.Top each serving with leche flan and cooked sweet purple yam; serve immediately.
