Ingredients for Pork Ginataan with Squash and String Beans
- 1 1/2 lb pork, cubed
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 1/4 cup shrimp paste (bagoong)
- 1 butternut squash, cubed
- 1 bunch string beans, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- Salt, to taste, optional
How to cook Pork Ginataan with Squash and String Beans
- 1.Heat oil in a pot over medium heat and sauté garlic and onion until fragrant.
- 2.Add pepper and pork; cook until the pork turns light brown.
- 3.Pour in beef broth and bring to a boil.
- 4.Stir in coconut milk, return to a boil, then cover and cook on low-medium heat until pork is tender.
- 5.Add squash, cover, and cook for 8–10 minutes. Stir in bagoong.
- 6.Add string beans, cover, and cook 3–5 minutes until tender-crisp; add salt only if needed and serve.
