Tupig
Tupig is a lightly sweet, coconut-studded glutinous rice cake grilled in banana leaves.

Ingredients for Tupig
- 2 packed cups glutinous rice
- 1 cup young coconut strips
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- Banana leaves, for wrapping
How to cook Tupig
- 1.Soak glutinous rice in enough water to cover overnight at room temperature.
- 2.Drain thoroughly, then press the rice in cheesecloth to remove excess moisture.
- 3.Process rice into a fine paste, blending in coconut milk and brown sugar until smooth.
- 4.Fold in young coconut strips.
- 5.Spoon 2 tablespoons onto each banana leaf, roll tightly, and fold the ends closed.
- 6.Grill over charcoal, turning often, until every side of the leaf is charred; cool briefly before serving.
