1 egg, beaten
1 cup cooking oil
1/4 cup all-purpose flour, plus 3 tbsp for sauce
1 cup Good Life breadcrumbs
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
1/8 tsp garlic powder
6 tbsp butter, divided
1 1/2 cups sweet corn kernels
3/4 tsp garlic powder, divided
Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 tsp onion, minced
2 tbsp carrot, minced
2 tsp chicken powder
4 oz pimiento, sliced
2 tsp parsley, chopped
1 cup all-purpose cream
1 cup fresh milk
How to cook Filipino Chicken ala King with Creamy Sauce
1.Pound chicken evenly; season with 1/8 teaspoon each salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
2.Coat chicken in flour, egg, then breadcrumbs; rest 5 minutes.
3.Deep-fry in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through; drain and plate.
4.Melt 2 tablespoons butter, sauté corn for 2 minutes, season with 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
5.Melt remaining butter; sauté garlic, onion, and carrot for 2 minutes. Stir in flour, then gradually add milk until thick.
6.Season sauce with chicken powder, remaining garlic powder, salt, and pepper; stir in cream, pimiento, and parsley for 30 seconds. Spoon over chicken with corn.
