Tangigue in Oil and Lemon
Tangigue steaks are pan-fried and gently finished in a lemon-garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients for Tangigue in Oil and Lemon
- 1 kg Spanish mackerel, cut into thick steaks
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- Chopped spring onions, for garnish
- Salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
How to cook Tangigue in Oil and Lemon
- 1.Season Spanish mackerel steaks generously with salt and black pepper.
- 2.Heat 1/4 cup olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Pan-fry fish until golden and cooked through; remove.
- 3.Melt butter with remaining olive oil in another skillet over medium heat. Sauté garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- 4.Return fish to the skillet, pour over lemon juice, and arrange lemon slices on top. Adjust seasoning.
- 5.Cover and cook 2 minutes. Transfer to a platter, garnish with spring onions, and serve hot.
