Crab and Pork Shumai (Siomai)
Crab and Pork Shumai combines sweet crab meat and seasoned pork in tender steamed wonton cups.

Ingredients for Crab and Pork Shumai (Siomai)
- 2 pounds ground pork
- 12 ounces crab meat
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 medium sweet onion, minced
- 1 cup minced carrots
- 1 package wonton wrappers
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt
- Cooking oil spray
- 5 cups water, for steaming
How to cook Crab and Pork Shumai (Siomai)
- 1.Mix pork and crab meat, then thoroughly combine with sesame oil, egg, onion, carrots, salt, and pepper.
- 2.Place 1–1 1/2 teaspoons filling in each wonton wrapper; gather the sides around filling while leaving the top open.
- 3.Lightly oil a bamboo or metal steamer and arrange shumai with space between each piece.
- 4.Bring the steaming water to a boil, cover, and steam 20–25 minutes until the pork filling is fully cooked.
- 5.Serve hot with ponzu, soy sauce, and lemon dip.
