Ginataang Okra
Tender okra and pork jowl simmer in a savory coconut milk sauce.

Ingredients for Ginataang Okra
- 400 g pork jowl, sliced
- 400 g fresh okra
- 400 ml coconut milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp bagoong
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 red onion, chopped
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 5 finger chilies, chopped
- 4 red chilies, for garnish
- Salt
- Oil, for cooking
How to cook Ginataang Okra
- 1.Season pork jowl generously with salt and black pepper.
- 2.Heat oil in a wok over medium-high heat and brown the pork on all sides.
- 3.Push pork aside; sauté garlic and onion until fragrant. Add water, bring to a boil, cover, and simmer over medium heat for 15 minutes.
- 4.Add coconut milk, bagoong, finger chilies, and okra. Bring to a boil, toss gently, then cover and cook on low for 8 minutes.
- 5.Adjust with salt and black pepper, garnish with red chilies, and serve hot.
