Sotanghon with Upo Soup
Sotanghon with Upo Soup is a comforting chicken-broth noodle soup with pork, shrimp, and toasted garlic.

Ingredients for Sotanghon with Upo Soup
- 3 tablespoons cooking oil
- 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 oz chopped pork
- 8 cups chicken broth
- 3/4 cup small shrimp
- 75 g sotanghon noodles
- 1 small upo, peeled and sliced
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons fish sauce (patis)
- 3 tablespoons deep-fried garlic
How to cook Sotanghon with Upo Soup
- 1.Heat oil in a pot and sauté onion and garlic until onion softens. Add pork and cook until lightly browned.
- 2.Pour in chicken broth, bring to a boil, cover, and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes.
- 3.Add shrimp and return the broth to a boil. Stir in sotanghon.
- 4.Add upo, cover, and cook over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes, adding broth if needed.
- 5.Season with pepper and patis. Add deep-fried garlic, cook 1 to 2 minutes, and serve.
