Ginataang Pusit
Ginataang pusit is a quick coconut-milk squid dish with ginger, chilies, and fish sauce for a creamy, gently spicy meal.

Ingredients for Ginataang Pusit
- 800 g medium-sized squid, cleaned and sliced
- 2 cups coconut milk
- 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
- 6 green chili peppers
- 1 onion, chopped
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 thumb-sized piece ginger, minced
- Fish sauce, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Oil, for sauteing
How to cook Ginataang Pusit
- 1.Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat, then saute the garlic, onion, and ginger for 2 minutes until fragrant and softened.
- 2.Pour in the coconut milk and add the white sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 3.Season with fish sauce, add the green chili peppers, then lower the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, until the coconut milk has thickened.
- 4.Add the sliced squid and cook for 5 minutes, just until tender and opaque.
- 5.Season with freshly ground black pepper, turn off the heat, and serve hot.
