Ingredients for Spring Onion Stuffed Squid
- 3 large squid, cleaned
- 2 bundles spring onions
- 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon corn flour, dissolved in 1/2 cup water
- Corn flour, for dredging
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fried garlic, for garnish
- Oil, for deep-frying
How to cook Spring Onion Stuffed Squid
- 1.Season squid inside and out with salt and black pepper. Stuff each cavity with spring onions and secure the openings with toothpicks.
- 2.Dredge squid lightly in corn flour. Deep-fry at medium-high heat for 3 minutes, just until crisp; avoid overcooking.
- 3.Meanwhile, combine teriyaki sauce, hoisin sauce, and dissolved corn flour in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then simmer until thick.
- 4.Drain squid, remove toothpicks, and cut several openings in each. Spoon sauce over and garnish with fried garlic.
