Beef Steak a La Crema
Thin seared beef is folded into a creamy mushroom sauce with onions and lemon.

Ingredients for Beef Steak a La Crema
- 1 kg chuck or rump steak, thinly sliced
- 10 white button mushrooms, sliced
- 250 ml fresh cream
- 1/2 cup beef stock
- 1 tbsp flour
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 large onions, sliced into rings
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt, to taste
- Oil
How to cook Beef Steak a La Crema
- 1.Tenderize beef, season with salt and pepper, then drain thoroughly and bring to room temperature.
- 2.Sear beef in hot oil over very high heat for 2 minutes per side; remove before it overcooks.
- 3.Sauté onion rings briefly in the same pan and remove. Cook mushrooms, adding oil if needed, then remove.
- 4.Cook butter and flour over low heat. Gradually whisk in beef stock, add cream, and simmer gently until smooth.
- 5.Return beef, mushrooms, and onions; simmer 2 minutes, season, turn off heat, drizzle with lemon juice, and serve.
